Bin vous savez quoi, la photo de Charles m'a marqué. Depuis je regarde à droite et à gauche à chaque intersection pour vérifier qu'il y n'ait pas un con qui vienne m'enpéguer!

He has been in the intensive care unit for about 6 days but right now he is better in a room. He is suffering a lot of pain, but we have to wait 6 weeks to see how his foot progress.

Hello everyone, my name is Christian, I'm Charles' son.
First I'd like to thank everyone for being so supportive, this means worlds to us, specially to our father.
We live a bit far from the hospital, so we're trying to spend as much time as we can with him, giving him all our love. Special thanks to Luis who's suffering on his own and he is giving us all his support, he is a great friend.
My father was on his way to Galicia when a car came out of a junction and collided. The problem was that it's a small road and there's too much traffic on it, and people here get really anxious while driving (specially all those families going out on vacation), so, on the junction the car saw that a truck came from the right and there was a car a bit far behind the truck on a long straight, so he thought that he could come out behind the truck. The problem was that my father was riding about 20 feet behind the truck. And that's what the car missed, so the driver was looking to his left knowing that after the truck he could come out and unfortunately thats what he did, he came out as fast as he could hitting my dad so hard on his left leg...that broke his femur on 3 parts, and a part from the damage suffered on his foot, it scratched on the ground so he lost a lot of blood as well. My father did not faint so he suffered it all seing his leg bent and twisted on top of his other leg. Thanks to some doctors that were near and saw the whole accident and helped him.
This would have never happened if a traffic light would have directed the traffic.
It's been some shit days, seing him in such pain, and not being a thing for me to do to ease his pain, just wait for the doctors to fix his foot, because his left foot has suffered too much damage...They've managed to get his leg straight. He's a really tough guy so he'll pull this through and he will be back on his feet in no time.
I have dried all my tears seing the accident in my mind, thinking what would have happend if...
Best is that his live's in no danger any more, and those are the best news by far. We've tried to read all your posts to my dad, but he gets a bit emoted...So day by day we'll read a bit. He's got a long way to recovery so he'll have time to read everything...And he'll have his computer in no time so you'll hear it a lot better from him.

Voilà, après 6 semaines de soins intensifs, Charles est en chambre mais il faut attendre encore 6 semaines pour voir l'évolution de son pied.

Tout le club est dans l'espoir de le revoir vite sur pieds et sur son beau Vmax. Courage Charles !

I sent the photo we made together at La Roca restaurant to Vboost magazine. Steve Jasse answered me it will be on the "Rear Tire" page of the fall edition of the Vboost mag. I hope in the middle!

Ce sont des nouvelles que j'ai via Luis (Luisules) qui a eu Charles au téléphone le 28 Août.
Charles est toujours à l'hôpital. Il se récupère doucement. Il devrait être transféré sous peu dans un autre service de "chirurgie réparatrice". Le plus délicat c'est pour son pied gauche qui présente une certaine nécrose. Les chirurgiens attendent l'évolution avant d'envisager des greffes.
Bien sûr, ce n'est pas vital, mais çà donne du soucis.

Quelles nouvelles de Charles ?

Pour la jambe c'est OK. Récupération normale.
Pour le pied c'est beaucoup plus problématique. Je me réserve tout pronostique (je crois que les toubibs aussi). On le bourre d'antibios et de calmants. Luis est chez moi en ce moment pour une semaine. Quand je lui ai posé la question pour le pied et la cheville Charles, son visage s'est fermé et il m'a dit texto "Ayons confiance dans le savoir-faire des chirurgiens".

Donc essayons de rester optimistes. Je vais essayer de lui téléphoner (à Charles) ce soir ou demain et je vous tiens au courant.

Again from luisules in the SpainVmax forum:

Charles was taken to OR 9/29 for 11 hours. He had skin and vascular grafts implanted, apparently successfuly. Further orthopedic surgery will be done. He's doing well according to Luis.
Hope everything keeps going well for Spanishflyer.

Charles a été opéré à nouveau le 29/09 pendant 11 heures. On lui a fait une greffe de peau et de vaisseaux sanguins , apparemment avec succès. Plus tard, de la chirurgie Ortho sera pratiquée.
Il va bien d'après Luis. Il espère que tout ira bien pour Charles.


On lui souhaite bon courage de la part de toute l'équipe de ce Forum.

On serre les pouces pour lui et on espère que ce ne soit bientôt plus qu'un mauvais souvenir.

Il a obtenu son billet de sortie de l'hôpital le 29/10 et est rentré chez lui. Auprès des siens, je suis sûr qu'il se sentira beaucoup mieux et que le moral va remonter. Il vous remercie tous pour vos messages de soutien.
